Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Supervisor, the Graduate Nurse applies nursing processes to deliver patient care according to established standards and protocols. They develop nursing diagnoses based on patient age and condition, implementing interventions to address actual or potential health problems. The role includes adhering to professional standards, organizational policies, and regulatory guidelines while participating in extended orientation programs tailored to new graduates.

Key Responsibilities:

- Apply the nursing process to provide direct patient care, including data collection and recording.
- Recognize and assess emergent patient care situations, providing appropriate interventions and documenting patient response.
- Delegate patient care duties based on staff skills, patient acuity, and available resources, ensuring follow-up as needed.
- Proactively manage unit situations and address patient and departmental needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer operations for documentation and data management.
- Uphold professional standards and organizational policies in nursing practice.
- Maintain unit cleanliness to promote patient safety and infection control.
- Utilize effective communication techniques tailored to the developmental stage of patients.
- Provide a safe environment and age-appropriate care for patients across the lifespan.
- Implement safe and therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Practice infection prevention techniques and manage body fluids effectively.
- Explain procedures to patients and families, acting as a patient advocate and respecting cultural values and beliefs.
