The American College of Financial Services is the nation’s largest non-profit professional educational institution devoted to financial services. Holding the highest level of academic accreditation, The College has served as a valued business partner to banks, brokerage firms, insurance companies, and others since 1927. The College’s faculty represents some of the financial services industry’s foremost thought leaders.

 

The American College, located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania (just outside Philadelphia) is accepting applications for a summer internship program offered in partnership with New York Life. Selected students, or recent graduates, will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience working alongside The College’s faculty and professional staff members in The American College of Financial Services. The mission of the New York Life Center for Retirement Income is to elevate the knowledge of financial services professionals to improve retirement security for all Americans. This involves helping consumers and financial advisors understand the basic issues, conducting research, and expanding the number of credentialed advisors.

Summer Internship Opportunities

Center for Economic Empowerment and Equality
Mission: To cultivate lasting relationships between financial services and under-served communities - narrowing the wealth gap and promoting upward mobility and wealth building for all Americans.

 

Responsibilities: 
Provide administrative support across all CEEE functional areas, day-to-day tasks, and assistance as needed, including:

  • Assist in the monitoring of the CEEE online community platform, and inbox.
  •  Assist with the organization of and for the NextGen scholars program.
  • Monitor and assist with Know Yourself, Grow Your Wealth completions.
    ■ Be a point of contact for the students
    ■ Tracking their travel
  • Assist with administrative and other support during the 2025 CAAFP Pre and Post conference planning.
  • Assist with check-in/registration and/or workshop support for the 2025 CAAFP conference.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.


Marketing & Strategy
Mission: To continually advance The College as the premier institution of applied financial knowledge and education for the benefit of society through well-defined strategies and tactics that expand brand reach, help to build and strengthen lasting partnerships, and drive revenue and funding goals. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Marketing Operations team with various contributions related to day-to-day management, social media messaging, and key creative and administrative collaboration.
  • Responsibilities would include: supporting marketing project management (end-to-end campaign creation and management), marketing intake process (answering emails, helping internal requesters submit forms, providing status updates, etc.), events support, and social media creation. 
  • As bandwidth allows, assistance with development of Marketing templates and process documentation.

Qualifications

This dynamic internship is exclusively for relatives of RMC members and New York Life employees and agents, although RMC members' relatives are given first consideration.

Qualified candidates are college students in their junior or senior year or recent graduates looking to gain some real-world work experience, preferably pursuing a degree in a related field.

  • College junior, senior, or recent graduate preferably pursuing a degree in finance or business.
  • Willingness to learn about the financial services industry
  • Computer literacy and ability to use social media
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Relative of a current or retired New York Life employee

 

Duration, Hours, Location, Compensation & Benefits:

Duration: Minimum eight weeks (Start/End dates are flexible and based on mutual consent with The College)

Hours: Interns are expected to work a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours each week

Location: Remote

Compensation: $20.00 per hour, less applicable federal, state, and local taxes; payable bi-weekly
