Project Manager will lead and manage all aspects of a Federal contract. Serve as the daily primary interface to Federal client, the project team, and subcontractors. Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities of the project teams, contract requirements, and ensuring deliverables are met within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Accomplish project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, lead and supervise project team to ensure contract deliverables are met.
- Provide strategic direction and sets priorities for overall contract, project, and/or program.
- Review contract to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various project tasks.
- Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Coordinate with accounting to monitor project financial health including budget forecasts.
- Identify and recommend approaches to improve quality, cost, and process inefficiencies.
- Responsible for regular and proactive client, team, and stakeholder communications and relationship management.
- Ensure project activities comply with Federal government regulations, policies, and ethics.
- Maintain job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; building on personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous work in American Indian/Alaska Native communities highly desired.
- Aptitude and experience managing Federal projects required (i.e. Developing Budgets, Supervision, Staffing, Project Management, Process Improvement, Tracking Budget Expenses, Self-Development, Planning, Performance Management, Strategic Communications, Verbal Communication).
- Experience on a team or managing a program in some or all of the following areas: grants management, policy implementation, peer grant review, communications and outreach, conference planning, IT and data management, research, evaluation and planning.
- Change management and consensus building skills with the ability to develop vision to inspire a team to action is a plus.
- Effective communication skills including how to summarize and convey complex information to expert and non-expert audiences.
- Proven ability to form positive, effective and culturally competent relationships with clients, management, and team members.
- Production and quality control of complex and high-quality work. Excellent analytical, and complex, high quality written work that include an attention to detail as well as a grasp of large conceptual frameworks.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and database management.
- Must be able to favorably complete a background investigation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with five years related experience; Masters degree preferred.
- Project Management experience required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
