Description

SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all raw materials and finished goods within our paint manufacturing plant ERP / WMS system. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient production, timely order fulfillment, and minimizing waste. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must be able to safely and effectively drive a forklift to load, unload, and transport products.
• Periodically audit inbound shipments to verify accuracy versus purchase order and/or BOL and properly labeled for put away.
• Report to plant management on inventory-related issues and non-moving materials.
• Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve inventory discrepancy issues.
• Ensure inventory is being properly rotated (FIFO).
• Identify monthly slow-moving/obsolete inventory and recommend disposition.
• Strives to maximize inventory turns and optimize service to the customers.
• Follow all safety rules and assure work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse, optimizing storage space and ensuring proper handling, storage, and rotation of stock to minimize waste and obsolescence.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to validate system accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
• Ensure data integrity within the inventory system through regular audits, data cleansing, and system updates.
• Identify areas for improvement in inventory control processes and procedures and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
• Assist plant manager with the annual physical inventory process.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Math Skills
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Basic computer skills with ability to learn MS office proficiently; Experience in MS Office, Excel Preferred.
• Effective communication skills (i.e. reading, writing, verbal)
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner, and dress according to acceptable standards set by the company.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work in an non-climate controlled warehouse.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions for this position are in a warehouse environment. The employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, and varying temperatures.
This position is a safety sensitive position.
