To plan, organize and implement a healthy living, exercise and physical fitness program at Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science (MS)2 students, in a technology-based learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Education and Health Education to (MS)2 students on various learning levels using the PE Health standards provided by OSSE
- Motivate to make sure the students follow through on the exercise plan.
- Design, organize and supervise athletic activity during class and instruct students on proper exercise routines and techniques.
- Escort students to designated locations to fulfill daily Physical Education requirements.
- Implement the following instructional technology and software
- Utilize and monitor students in the use of learning materials, equipment and relevant technology
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs and development.
- Monitor individual students' progress and provide appropriate feedback regularly to students, parents and (MS)2 administration regarding student progress needs.
- Update and maintain student grades accurately and completely as required by (MS)2
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures per the guidelines of the (MS)2 Student Handbook and apply appropriate consequences where necessary.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings and/or conferences.
