Position Description

Overview
The Digital Marketing and Communication Associate (DMCA) is a full-time, year-round position responsible for supporting all aspects of digital and physical marketing, content creation, and communications at the Corporation for Findlay Market. The DMCA will be responsible for creating engaging content for digital platforms, managing social media accounts, and assisting in the development of marketing campaigns. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date promotional materials and working with internal teams to ensure seamless communication across all channels.

We are looking for an individual who thrives in a dynamic, community-centered environment and has a passion for digital marketing and storytelling. The Digital Marketing and Communication Associate should be proactive, creative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on quality and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will be excited to represent Findlay Market online, promote our programs, and highlight the incredible people, food, and events that make Findlay Market a unique destination.

The position will require a regular schedule of Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends for on-site events, promotions, and capturing live content. We seek a self-starter who enjoys interacting with diverse groups, working collaboratively with the Marketing team, and continuously learning about the Findlay Market community.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Promotions

  • Responsible for the creation, distribution, and organization of monthly Merchant Memos.
  • Manage the Merchant Involvement spreadsheet to track engagement and participation. 
  • Responsible for onsite door poster copy, and replacing or removing them around the Market House as needed.
  • Responsible for sending the Internal Promotions form to CFFM staff, tracking responses, and ensuring promotions are included in upcoming social media and newsletter calendars.
  • Assist with the creation of PR materials, including press releases and news briefs.
  • Gather and organize exciting news and updates from market businesses, including highlighting their products and events.
  • Help collect, plan, and support the execution of Findlay Market holiday promotions.
  • Provide support for promotions related to the Findlay Market Bar Program, including Jane’s and Race Street Station.
  • Assist in collecting and organizing promotional details for Findlay Market special events.
  • Help promote Findlay Market programming, such as Findlay Eats, Greening the Market, Tours, and Music at the Market.
  • Support promotional efforts for organization-wide programs like Findlay Kitchen, Findlay Learn, Findlay Launch, and Findlay Outdoor Market.
  • Coordinate with the Graphic Designer to develop promotional materials for digital use including but not limited to social media graphics, Instagram stories, websliders, and more.
  • Assist with creating promotions for community outreach and engagement initiatives.
  • Help manage and maintain promotional displays across the market, including at the Market Center, Education Center, and bars.
  • Ensure signage around the market is accurate and up-to-date.

Content Creation and Social Media

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of events, promotions and programs for use across social media, websites, and marketing materials.
  • Schedule and post all social media content across platforms via HootSuite, including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Broadcast Channels.
  • Write and edit social media copy and captions to align with brand voice and strategy.
  • Assist in developing social media strategy and content calendars alongside the Marketing team.
  • Contribute to creative and engaging content to promote Findlay Market’s outdoor bars, Jane’s and Race Street Station.
  • Capture and share in-the-moment content to highlight market happenings, events, and activities.
  • Create and edit short-form video content, including Instagram Reels and TikToks, to drive audience engagement.
  • Serve as an internal resource to create and edit copy for CFFM teams.
  • Respond to social media comments and messages, engaging with the community to build stronger relationships.

 

Digital Marketing

  • Create content for the monthly newsletter Market Matters and the bimonthly newsletter Bite Size News.
  • Manage email campaigns and write copy for the Findlay Market Shopping App weekly newsletters.
  • Track email revenue analytics for Findlay Market Shopping App campaigns.
  • Support seasonal communication campaigns.
  • Manage digital assets, ensuring all photos are tagged and stored in the photo shared drive, SmugMug.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and content formats to ensure timely and relevant content creation.
  • Monitor content performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve engagement and reach.
  • Ensure the website remains current by updating content, removing outdated elements such as websliders, and addressing outdated information promptly.
  • Responsible for keeping website promotional pop-ups up-to-date and consistent with market events and promotions, including writing, posting, and promptly removing them once the event or promotion is complete.
  • Optimize website content for search engines to improve organic traffic.
  • Support paid advertising campaigns through Meta
  • Support promotional campaigns in partnership with local businesses, vendors, and sponsors by distributing co-branded digital content.
  • Assist in gathering insights on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform promotional strategies.

Public Relations & Outreach

  • Provide organizational and administrative support to the Communications team as needed.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of outreach locations (organizations, businesses, residential).
  • Oversee the physical and digital distribution of outreach materials.
  • Provide Market Center Associates with weekly summaries of activities.
  • Manage the donation request program.
  • Assist with general market inquiries, comments, complaints and questions.
  • Act as a tour guide for market tours as needed.
  • Be on-site for special events, programming, and activations as needed for promotions and communications.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization
  • Genuine interest in Findlay Market and a passion for supporting local businesses and community engagement.
  • An Associate’s Degree or higher in digital marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, or at least 2 years of equivalent work experience in these areas.
  • Proficiency in managing and creating content across various social media platforms.
  • A keen eye for visual storytelling with the ability to capture dynamic, high-quality photos and videos.
  • Skilled in adapting content to suit various platforms, from social media to marketing materials.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus but not required.
  • A natural storyteller with a creative approach to content creation.
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic setting.
  • Continual on-the-job learning is required.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and some non-traditional hours.
