PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Routine and complex tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunohematology
- Plan, perform, and evaluate laboratory testing analysis
- Maintain communication with physicians and other personnel
- Process specimens, perform test procedures, and make preliminary interpretations
- Maintain equipment
- Perform quality control and assurance procedures
- Clean, operate, and calibrate equipment
- Comply with all laboratory, organizational, and governmental policies and procedures
- Report all incidents involving laboratory error, amended reports, or laboratory accidents/incidents promptly to the laboratory manager
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biological science or a comparable area with licensure or certification as a medical technologist.
EXPERIENCE:
One year experience in a medical laboratory setting is desired but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Tennessee Board licensed Medical Technologist.
