PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledgeable of breast imaging, surgery and oncology care plans
- Provide patient education regarding the plan of care through counseling, educational materials, and directing them to the appropriate resources
- Coordinate follow up procedures
- Schedule and coordination of appointments with surgery and oncology
- Support patient compliance through constant communication, education, and transportation assistance
- Consent patients prior to procedures
- Communicate diagnosis and pathology results
- Primary contact for continuum of care (diagnosis to treatment)
- Act as patient advocate
- Document patients progress, coordination activities, and communication in the electronic health record and mammography tracking software
- Facilitate reminder letters
- Build relationships with primary cancer treatment teams (radiologist, physicians, nurses, referral dept, and office staff) and community resources
- Facilitate Genetic Testing
- Assist with IVs at the Comprehensive Breast Center (CBC) and SOFHA Imaging Center (SIC)
- Respond to incidents and contrast reactions at CBC and SIC
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
EXPERIENCE:
- Oncology experience preferred.

- Registered Nurse Licensure
