Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age with no criminal history. Possess a current Lifeguard and/or Waterfront Skills Certification.
This individual’s primary role is to be responsible for the safety and security of all people in and around the pool.
Expectations:
- Supervise all swimming activities.
- Maintain safety of all people in and around the pool area.
- Remain alert and use all senses while guarding. NO Cell phone use allowed.
- Perform first aid and emergency care treatment when required.
- Handle discipline situations with courtesy.
- Complete all necessary injury reports.
- Notify Director immediately of significant weather changes during pool time.
- Memorize all emergency procedures.
Mental Demands:
Must be capable of assessing and communicating information to. Able to remain alert and focused in a loud outdoor setting. Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Physical Demands:
Physical demands include the requirements of bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, writing, squatting, driving, sitting/standing (particularly for long periods of time), hearing, holding/grasping, turning or otherwise working with your hands and seeing. Also must be able to be outside for long periods of time.
