The Urogynecology Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing urodynamic evaluations on patients.
Â
- Extensive urogynecology triage via telephone.
- Performs general nursing care to patients (including phone and in-person triage), administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.
- Records patients' medical history, vital statistics and additional information such as test results in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collects blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, logs the specimens, and prepares them for testing.
- Administers injections and prescribed medications as directed by the physician.
- Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the physician.
- Greets patients and prepares them for examination, screens patients for appropriate information and instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Â Instructs patients and family members regarding medications, test results and treatment instructions.
- Assists with referrals and medication refills.
- Maintains patient recall lists.
- Formulates and updates patient care plans, and orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts, records test and examination results in the patient chart.
- Prepares examination rooms, including restocking of supplies in treatment areas.
- Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
- Represents division in a professional manner. Â Treats all patients, customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
