Marketing Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the PHLCVB’s marketing initiatives. Working under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager, the Specialist will oversee day-to-day advertising workflows, contribute creative ideas, manage project timelines, and serve as a liaison with vendors and internal teams.  


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Advertising Campaign Support

  • Support development and execution of paid media plans in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Manage trafficking of advertising assets and confirming placement activations.
  • Monitor and track campaign performance; compiling post-campaign reports with insights and recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Research advertising opportunities to support future planning and media recommendations.
  • Manage invoice tracking and assist with advertising and promotional budget documentation.

Creative and Content Support

  • Contribute creative input and collaborate on campaign visuals and messaging.
  • Provide creative support for promotions and experiential activations, bringing a fresh perspective and inventive mindset beyond paid advertising campaigns.
  • Stay current on marketing, advertising and design trends to bring fresh, innovative ideas to campaigns.
  • Support content adaptation for different platforms (print, digital, etc.) Work closely with the social team to support their creative efforts.
  • Coordinate details for photo and video shoots, including scheduling and asset management.
  • Working with internal team, support digital asset organization ensuring files are properly tagged, updated and accessible.

Project and Workflow Management

  • Act as a project manager for assigned marketing initiatives, including scheduling, tracking, and reporting on internal and external marketing project requests.
  • Draft project briefs, establish timelines and coordinate deliverables to ensure smooth workflow from inception to completion.
  • Serve as a liaison with assigned agencies, creative vendors, media buyers, and production partners to ensure campaigns and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Track, review and proof marketing collateral, advertisements, and creative materials to ensure accuracy, brand consistency, and quality. Manage annual collateral calendar.
  • Support marketing elements for PHLCVB events and special activations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in marketing and advertising; tourism or destination marketing experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of advertising planning, campaign execution, and reporting.
  • Prior experience contributing to and implementing marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong creating thinking with attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player
  • Effective communicator with strong writing, proofing and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with project management platforms and digital asset management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Philadelphia as a destination preferred and a passion for the PHLCVB’s mission.
