The primary purpose of this position is as follows: Maintain the integrity and organization of all raw material supplier chemical documentation and coordinate the development and implementation of policies and processes to ensure compliance with Environmental, Safety, and Health regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Hazard Communication Compliance: Coordinate the implementation of policies and objectives to ensure compliance with OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard.
- Safety & Health Training: Develop and implement OSHA Safety & Health training programs for employees.
- Safety Manual Oversight: Coordinate the creation, maintenance, and revision of Tnemec’s Safety Manual.
- Facility Audits: Conduct Environmental, Safety, and Health audits at Tnemec’s North Kansas City facilities.
- Safety Topics & Meetings: Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly safety topics, training sessions, and meetings.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with Tnemec’s representatives and customers regarding Environmental, Safety, and Health issues.
- Hazardous Waste Disposal: Coordinate and implement hazardous waste disposal programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Waste & Emissions Minimization: Develop and manage programs aimed at waste minimization and reducing plant emissions (air pollution).
- SDS Program Administration: Assist with input, maintenance, and upkeep of Tnemec’s computerized Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program.
- Container Labeling: Assist in maintaining and revising hazardous warnings on container labels.
- Finished Goods Integrity: Review supplier Safety Data Sheets and raw material compositions, ensuring constant supplier outreach to maintain product integrity.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
- Checklist Completion: Complete the Environmental sections of New Product and New Raw Material checklists.
- Sample Collection: Coordinate and assist with sample collection.
- Mail Room Assistance: Provide support to mail room activities on a limited basis.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks related to Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS), and operational issues as needed.
