About the position

As the Director of Public Policy, you will be responsible for researching policies, laws and regulations that impact the Kiddie Academy business model, and developing strategies and executing projects that promote a favorable business environment for the company and its franchisees. This position is based in our corporate office located in Abingdon, Maryland.

Your Skills and Experience:
- Degree in public policy or government affairs, law, or a related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the childcare and/or education sectors.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education policies at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Experience interfacing with government agencies and/or legislative bodies.
- Excellent oral and written communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory issues and translate them into actionable business strategies.
- Ability to travel as needed for federal, state and local government meetings and franchisee support.
