Position Summary:
The HR Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Human Resources department and assist in the smooth operation of day-to-day HR functions. This entry-level position is ideal for someone interested in starting their HR career in higher education. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining employee records, supporting recruitment efforts, assisting with onboarding, and providing general administrative support to the HR team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources team, including answering phones, greeting employees and candidates, responding to emails, and assisting with HR inquiries.
Employee Records: Maintain and update employee records in the HR information system (HRIS), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of personnel information.
Recruitment Support: Assist with the recruitment process by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates throughout the hiring process.
Onboarding: Assist with new employee onboarding by preparing materials, coordinating orientations, and ensuring all new hire paperwork is completed.
Benefits Administration: Provide basic support for employee benefits inquiries, helping with benefits enrollment and updates during open enrollment periods.
Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws by maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audits.
HR Projects: Assist with HR initiatives and special projects as needed, including employee engagement programs, wellness initiatives, and training sessions.
