Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques

An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures

Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.

Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.

Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the DOD
-
If a major emergency is spotted initiate the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).

Participate in regular in-service training sessions and mandatory meetings.
-
Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
-
Current certification from American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
-
Lifeguarding skills and knowledge
-
Leadership and public relations skills
-
Decision-making skills
Work Requirements:
-
Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel and bend up to 8 hours in one working day
-
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
-
Able to work in a humid (degree ranges from 75-90) and noisy environment.
-
Able to climb in and out of the pool.
