The Site Manager role, within the Operations Department, is responsible for overseeing labor, materials, and project progression at the customer's site, in accordance with plans, prints, schedules, and budgets related to the installation of manual and automated material handling equipment at the customer's site, ensuring success in terms of quality, time, and budget.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations related to the installation of manual and automatic warehouse projects at the customer’s site.
- Prepare and review drawings, scrub BOM’s, and participate in installation plan preparation in advance of being on site to ensure correct material arrives given the project and the customer’s site layout and any other restrictions. Approve project plans.
- Coordinate subcontractors and internal personnel resources. Assign tasks and schedules to ensure proper coverage, milestone accomplishment, and adherence to assembly methodology and drawings. Enforce policies and procedures with personnel, with special focus on safety and quality.
- Address and report safety concerns in a timely manner. Ensure appropriate safety training per site requirements for all workers.
- Ensure correct material flow and delivery. Work with Project Manager to define delivery dates in advance of installation. Verify deliveries and report discrepancies to PM.
- Organize the personnel, materials, and other resources on site daily, assigning tasks based on resources available in order to fulfill project milestones.
- Coordinate interaction with other trades on site.
- Track and monitor project progress. Create and submit scheduled quality reports and status reports regarding the project. Review performance of subcontractors hired and report feedback to PM and PMO.
- Respond to or be receptive of any customer or project partner comments or questions, communicating heavily with PM as it relates to customer interaction. Mediate any on-site conflicts.
- Verify the assembly and functionality of mechanical and robotic systems per measurements and drawings.
- Communicate heavily with Project Manager related to progress and any issues that arise on site, such as delays, shortages, labor requirements, etc.
- Submit complete expense reports weekly to PMO.
