What will you do?
The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation and drafting to execution and closeout. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that the organization's interests are protected. The Contracts Manager will manage a team, ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies, and mitigate risks associated with contracts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, negotiation, and execution of contracts, including but not limited to service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts, ensuring that all agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., legal, finance, procurement, and operations) and external partners to ensure that contract terms are understood and adhered to by all parties.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with external partners and vendors to achieve favorable terms for the organization, balancing risk and reward.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including data protection and privacy requirements.
- Contract Administration: Manage the administration of contracts, including tracking key milestones, deliverables, and deadlines, and ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
- Dispute Resolution: Address and resolve any disputes or issues that arise during the contract lifecycle, working with legal counsel as necessary.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on contract status, compliance issues, and other relevant metrics for senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement best practices for contract management processes and systems, including the use of contract management software.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of contract administrators or specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure the team’s success.
