QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (Master’s Preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned (Preferred)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Demonstrated work experience
- Valid CDL or willing to obtain CDL (Preferred)
- Lacrosse coaching preferred but not required

- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to inspire students and maximize their prosocial behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Align teaching philosophy to the SAA vision and mission
- Knowledge of body mechanics, strength, speed, and agility
- Knowledge of basic muscle terminology and the human body
- Develop games/skill enhancement for various age groups
- Demonstrate exercise/skill expectations and proper exercise mechanics
- Strong ability to show large group control and routines
- Positive mentor-coaching abilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Align, develop, and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation.
- Class set-up and prepared in timely manner
- Coaching multiple athletic teams
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the school.
- Plan lessons, and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles, accommodations, and needs of students assigned.
- Conduct assessments (formal and informal) of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Provide leadership and collaboration in developing an appropriate departmental program for all students.
- Communicate and promote implementation of SAA guidelines on grading practices, curriculum, assessments, and instructional strategies.
- Participate in department meetings, faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Supervise students in and out-of-classroom activities.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by professional growth activities.
- Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and needs.
- Utilize technology in the teaching/learning process.
- Assist in the selection of equipment and other instructional materials.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
- Remain informed of and comply with school regulations and policies.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Salary: Commensurate with experience/Coaching Stipend
Length of assignment: Annual (10 month)
