Hourly rate of $19.23-$24.03 is equivalent to $40,000-$50,000 per year.
General Schedule
Position typically works Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm at UCO's main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma. Some travel may be required.
Position Overview
The Recruiting/Player Development Management Coordinator will assist in program recruiting activities and support Player Development and Growth of the Game initiatives. Additionally, this role will assist the program by acting as office manager, developing and implementing office processes and procedures, providing support in work experience activities, organizing and conducting program activities, serving students, and representing the University of Central Oklahoma and The PGA of America.
Job Duties
Recruiting and Marketing Support
- Assist the Assistant Director in coordinating student recruitment and marketing processes, including creating print and electronic materials, managing website content and social media, and delivering personal presentations and PGA-required seminars.
- Responding to prospective student inquiries, managing related documents, and meeting with prospective students and families.
- Maintain graduate contact information for periodic communications.
Player Development and Growth of the Game
- Assist the Director in conducting Growth of the Game initiatives for UCO faculty, staff, students, and the community.
- Assist in student Player Development activities to help students pass the PAT, including providing individual instruction and creating game improvement plans.
- Responsible for effective demonstration of golf techniques, swings, and other skills.
Program Operations and Student Support
- Work with the assistant director in tournament operations with student organizations and monitor student access and behavior.
- Organize, conduct, and summarize results of PGA Golf Management Student Association student golf tournaments, making recommendations for revisions to the tournament manual.
- Create, maintain, and organize individual files for all prospective, current, and former students in electronic and hard copy formats.
- Internship Evaluation and coordination
- Prospective Student Applications
- New Student Orientation forms
- Update PGA-required tracking reports.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.
Qualifications/Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in related-field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Class "A" PGA or LPGA Membership. The position will require becoming a PGA Member.
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Broad knowledge and experience in the golf industry is required
- Ability to play and teach the game of golf.
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Access; QuickBooks; Unknown Golf or other golf tournament management applications; Teaching & Coaching software like SportsBox AI, V-1, Trackman, Foresight Sports, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to create detailed and professional reports, budgets, letters, etc.
- Working knowledge of golf club repair and fitting equipment and techniques.
- Ability to multi-task, organize activities, meet deadlines, and conduct events.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information effectively.
- Ability to work independently and with individuals from diverse backgrounds, interests, and education levels.
