 *Note: this position normally works 10 months per year and is not eligible for vacation accruals. Please see the information below for the anticipated working dates.  

General Schedule

Mon - Sat 5:30am - 4pm, self-directed recruiting often done in the evenings remotely.

Anticipated 10-month schedule: August - May.

Position Overview and Job Duties

The assistant rowing coach will help the Head Rowing Coach run and manage all aspects of the UCO Women's rowing team.

This includes, but is not limited to coaching student athletes, recruiting future student athletes (domestically and internationally), assisting with administrative work (travel planning, program administration, compliance, recruiting and associated paperwork, gear, etc), managing upkeep and maintenance for all rowing equipment (trailer, truck, launches, engines, boats, oars, ergs), maintaining rowing facilities to a high level of organization and cleanliness, helping to fundraise with alumni and outside groups, manage academic progress and success for student athletes, work well with others within the department to ensure smooth operation of rowing team

Comply with all athletic department and rowing team rules, regulations, and processes.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Bachelor's degree and or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts of collegiate sports programs. Experience in the sport of rowing, either coaching or as an athlete.

Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle. 

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

Trailer Driving experience, coaching experience, college recruiting experience, ability and desire to perform excellent work in both coaching and administrative tasks, experience with Microsoft Excel

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must be self-motivated with a desire to do excellent work in all facets of the job without constant supervision from head coach
