Description

This position is responsible for installing, repairing, connecting, testing, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications. Read & interpret electrical schematics. Install and terminate wiring, build, and terminate wire harnesses. Install electrical components, program and set-up all components, install 12- & 2-volt lighting systems and troubleshoot all. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PRIMARY

  • Must be able to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as multimeter.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards.
  • Calibrate equipment to provided specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot 24 VDC/12VDC Systems and conduct preventive maintenance.
  • Must install new electrical equipment as needed.
  • Must make the necessary repairs as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience.
  • Must replace items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire as needed.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Maintain communication with contractor or vendor.
  • May work with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license in state of practice
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience
  • Ability to Design, Build and Install Control Panels
  • Ability to Interpret Electrical Schematics
  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak basic English.
  • NCCER Electrical certification a plus
  • Hazardous area wiring experience a plus.
  • PLC (MicroLogix, RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000) and related wiring knowledge a plus
