Position Summary

The Store Recap and Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the supervision of the Store Recap Clerks and responsible for the compliance requirements related to front end vendors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                      

Store Recap Supervisor Duties:

  • Hire, manage, and train the Store Recap Clerk team to effectively reconcile store level accounting.
  • Oversee and review numerous accounts including store bank accounts, transfers and all store recap accounts. Validate recaps are audited and posted correctly into the general ledger by the team.
  • Reconcile numerous front end vendor balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to: Lottery, Cherokee WIC, Texas WIC, SAMCO, ATM’s, and bank service fees.
  • Act as liaison for front end and store recap issues with the store managers.
  • Assess existing processes and procedures for improvement opportunities.
  • Verify Store Recap Clerks complete timely any licenses due annually.
  • Assist with other period-end closing duties.

Compliance Supervisor Duties:

  • Collect and maintain store employee training documents in a corporate master file.
  • Responsible for being the point of contact for Western Union Compliance, including anti-money laundering programs and training, store and annual compliance audits, suspicious activity reports and record retention (for up to 5 years)
  • Responsible for being the point of contact for Coinstar Compliance, including anti-money laundering programs and training
  • Collaborate annually with the Controller and Risk Management team to verify all training and policies are complete and updated.
  • Review federal laws annually to verify we are compliant with all requirements.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities   

The Store Recap and Compliance Supervisor will directly manage accounting clerks.  

Education and Experience

  • 2 years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and reconciling principles

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
