FILE MAINTENANCE CLERK
PURPOSE STATEMENT: To maximize profit by performing all duties necessary to ensure that the front-end system price file is current, and tags and signage are current.
SIGNIFICANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To activate regular price changes on the list or change form. This includes all price changes caused by weekly ads, deals and price reductions.
- To ensure that every item on the case/shelf/display has a correct price tag/sign. Order or make tags and signs as necessary.
- To perform all department manual price changes on the POS system.
- To ensure that all direct store-delivered items are in the item/price file.
- To monitor item file for correct multiple prices, cents-off label, mix-match, pre-priced and bonus-priced items.
- To verify accuracy of item/price file against shelf-tag prices and the store price book on all DSD, warehouse delivered, ad, "Special Buy", deal, new item, direct ship, and PLU items and to determine:
a. If the item has been set up correctly/incorrectly.
b. If the item has not been set up.
c. If the retail price is correct/incorrect in the system.
- To understand the operation, safety requirements and restraints of scanning equipment, computer, price-verification equipment and intercom system.
- To communicate with the store/department manager on problems, recommendations for change and pricing/signage decisions.
- To print and verify each week with the produce department a list of all department PLU files.
- To make two copies of the back-up tape. (One for the manager; one for the safe.)
- To make a list of "bad" UPC code information at all registers and report "bad" UPC codes to the Corporate Office.
- To secure the POS system so that unauthorized personnel cannot make changes in the POS system.
- To review the price changes and new shelf tags from the Corporate Office.
- To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by the store manager, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.
