As Sales Manager, you are responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of sales department. This role involves managing and motivating sales team members, executing sales strategies and processes, achieving sales goals and objectives, and ensuring exceptional customer service. You will provide leadership for all aspects of the Sales department operations, to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and profitability of the Sales department. You are to model behaviors and a culture for success including integrity, respect, drive, community, fun and pride without ego, with self-confidence, and creativity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Lead, coach, mentor, and manage team members, establishing and fostering employee engagement to develop a high performing team.

Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all sales department team members, remain consistent in this approach.

Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape team member’s attitudes and build morale.

Follow the sales pledge and process with all sales professionals and guests. Hold gross in all new and used vehicle sales.

Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and automotive retail industry. Participate in process and policy discussions of the company to continually adapt to the changing market.

Hold weekly department meetings to ensure effective communication with your team and to ensure the Sales Department is operating efficiently and productively.

Ensure Dealership reputation is top of CSI and other consumer ratings, including BBB and Google.

Resolve any guest complaints that team members are unable to rectify timely and ensure there is resolution to the guest’s satisfaction.

Set comprehensive expectations of Sales Department team members. Participate in team member reviews as necessary to ensure compliance and growth of team members.

Forecast & execute goals, KPIs, and objectives both annually and monthly for the department.

Forecast & execute sales targets based on monthly OEM and dealership objectives.

Monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reports and/or tracking systems.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations (i.e. OSHA Right-to-Know), and standards to maintain the legality and business integrity of Dealership.

Review inventory daily to ensure proper stock of vehicles. No 90+ day pre-owned vehicles should be in stock without a plan with General Manager.

Attain accurate daily logs.

Performs appraisals for all trade-ins, lease buyouts, street purchases, while maintaining an appropriate look to book average.  Vehicles should be front-line ready within 3 days. Collaborate with other department teams.

Responsible for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining new and used vehicles, i.e. vehicles are clean, in straight lines, websites are accurate and representing Mauer appropriately.

Strong understanding, adherence and surpassing of manufacturing incentive programs, i.e. SFE, CPO, EVX. This includes ensuring all rebate documentation is secured and submitted to the OEM.

Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends team members to appropriate training as needed.

Perform monthly commissions and provide details to Payroll.

Ensure that the work areas and guest areas are kept clean. Maintain safe work environment.

Conduct monthly reviews for sales professionals and other department team members by the 5th of every month.

Other tasks as assigned.
