Job Summary: Stark & Stark is actively recruiting for an Associate for our Hamilton, NJ office to work in Community Association and/or Construction litigation. The right candidate will have the extraordinary opportunity to continue their professional development in a challenging, but collegial, environment.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will support the community association group attorneys with general corporate counsel matters and the construction litigation group attorneys in community association litigation matters.
  • Responsible for all phases of litigation, with an emphasis on drafting pleadings, engaging in written discovery, taking and defending depositions and oral motion hearings and assistance at trial. 
  • Manage general corporate contracts, legal opinions, by-law amendments, rule creation, and collection litigation.  Attendance at community association meetings is required.
  • Provide timely and consistent updates on the status of cases and assignments.
  • Work primarily in office, maintaining a physical presence to ensure in-person collaboration and engagement with the team.
  • Participating in trade organizations, conferences and networking events.

Qualifications:

  • Two to four years of experience handling litigation matters is required. Community Association experience a plus.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Exercise judgment and the ability to work autonomously and as an effective member of a team.
  • Must be able to act with a sense of urgency while presenting a calm demeanor.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to problem solve independently.
  • The ideal candidate will have an interest in handling both transactional and litigation matters.  
  • Admission in New Jersey is required. Admission in Pennsylvania is a plus.
