Summary: Goldey-Beacom College seeks a passionate and innovative Assistant or Associate Professor of Human Services to join our dynamic faculty. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and expand our Human Services program, fostering a student-centered learning environment and preparing future professionals to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Position Type: Full-time, beginning August 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality instruction in undergraduate Human Services courses, integrating real-world applications and experiential learning.
  • Play a leading role in program development, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and expand undergraduate curriculum, with a long-term vision of establishing a Master of Social Work (MSW) program.
  • Oversee and coordinate internship and practicum experiences for Human Services and Psychology majors, building strong partnerships with community organizations.
  • Actively contribute to program growth and strategic planning to meet the evolving needs of students and the profession.
  • Collaborate with faculty across departments to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Engage in assessment and accreditation activities to uphold academic excellence and program integrity.

Months per Year: 10.5
FLSA:  Exempt

Salary Range:

  • Assistant Professor: $62,000 - $66,000
  • Associate Professor: $69,000 - $74,000

Qualifications

Qualifications – Assistant Professor Level:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant field experience in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in higher education.
  • Master’s degree required; a terminal degree (Ph.D., DSW) in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field is preferred. ABD candidates, those anticipating dissertation defense, or those with extensive industry experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience coordinating internships or practicum placements in a Human Services or related program.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program development and a commitment to advancing a curriculum that aligns with industry standards.
  • Passion for teaching excellence and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and assessment processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience in curriculum design and outcome-based assessment to ensure continuous program improvement.

 Qualifications – Associate Professor Level:

In addition to meeting the qualifications for the Assistant Professor level, candidates must also:

  • Currently hold the rank of Associate Professor.
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of full-time teaching experience at a four-year college or university.
  • Demonstrate a strong record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
