Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team in a role that blends systems administration, system engineering, and cybersecurity. This position plays a vital role in supporting and advancing our corporate cybersecurity program.

Responsibilities:

  • Support cybersecurity initiatives with a strong foundation in information security, privacy regulations, and industry best practices
  • Recommend and coordinate the procurement and installation of security-related software
  • Develop, implement, and monitor security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for security operations
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of systems, track corrective actions, and ensure timely closure of findings
  • Administer and maintain virtual environments for both servers and workstations
  • Manage patch deployment systems, including configuration, administration, and status reporting to management
  • Operate and maintain vulnerability management tools and processes
  • Configure, monitor, and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring regular reporting of recovery readiness
  • Maintain and administer Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
  • Investigate, respond to, and document security and privacy incidents
  • Coordinate and report on phishing simulation campaigns and awareness initiatives
  • Identify, assess, and remediate security and privacy risks, providing timely reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage identity and access management systems to ensure secure and efficient access control

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a cyber specialist/analyst role, preferably supporting a government contractor
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • One or more of the following certifications: Security+, GIAC-IH, CISSP (required)
  • Familiarity with FISMA, HIPAA, and NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800 series, ISO 27001, CMMC, and CMMI frameworks
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • This position is hybrid with occasional on-site duties in Windsor Mill, MD as needed
  • Must be located in the DMV to be considered

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
