Tennis Shop Attendant

Job Summary:

The Tennis Shop Attendant assists in the day-to-day operations of the tennis pro shop, ensuring that members and guests receive outstanding customer service. This role includes merchandise sales, court reservations, and assisting with tennis events.

Job Responsibilities:

Retail & Member Service:

• Greet and assist members with tennis-related purchases and inquiries.
• Process sales transactions for apparel, accessories, and equipment.
• Assist members with racket stringing and customization services (if applicable).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked tennis shop.

Court Reservations & Event Support:

• Manage court booking system and ensure accurate scheduling.
• Communicate with members regarding availability, tournaments, and special events.
• Assist with setting up and organizing club tournaments, social events, and clinics.

Administrative & Inventory Management:

• Track and manage inventory levels for tennis merchandise.
• Assist in placing orders for tennis balls, grips, apparel, and accessories.
• Maintain accurate sales and transaction records.

Qualifications, Education, & Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility successfully. This person must present a neat appearance and have a warm, cheerful personality.  Tact and good judgment are especially beneficial characteristics.  This person must also possess the knowledge, skill, and ability to carry out the job responsibilities. 

• Prior experience in retail, customer service, or a tennis-related role preferred.
• Basic understanding of tennis equipment and apparel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and club events as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Standing for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting of tennis equipment and merchandise (up to 30 lbs).
• Frequent walking between tennis shops and courts.
