Samuel Engineering, Inc. (Samuel) is pleased to present the Samuel Academy Internship Program (SAIP)!  

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and talented Engineering Intern to join our team for a hands-on learning experience at Samuel Engineering Inc. This internship is part of the Samuel Academy Internship Program (SAIP) and is designed for college juniors who are going into their senior year and are pursuing a degree in Engineering. Our program offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting, gain valuable industry experience, and transition into a full-time position after graduation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Support:
    • Assist in the design and basic tasks of engineering projects.
    • Contribute to the creation of technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
    • Participate in project meetings and provide input on project progress.
  2. Research and Analysis:
    • Perform calculations and simulations to support design decisions.
    • Assist in the evaluation and testing of materials, components, and systems.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to complete assigned tasks.
    • Rotate amongst the Engineering disciplines within the company to obtain a general understanding of each Engineering discipline and how they function.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
    • Prepare and present reports on project status, research findings, and technical issues.
  4. Field Work and Site Visits:
    • Participate in site visits and fieldwork to gain practical experience and insight into project implementation.
    • Assist in the inspection and testing of on-site installations and systems.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Engage in continuous learning through workshops, training sessions, and mentorship from experienced engineers.
    • Develop skills in project management, communication, and technical writing.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering (Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Piping, Electrical, Automation, or related field).
  • Strong academic record with a solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new skills in a professional setting.
