Description

Illinois College invites applications for a full-time position, with a preferred start in late 2024, but start date in spring 2025 possible.

 

Extensive experience in nursing required; minimum two years experience in nursing education strongly preferred. Familiarity with requirements for nursing education accreditation is important, as is interest in ongoing work in accreditation and assessment. Other requirements for this role include an active unencumbered registered nursing license in the state of Illinois. 

 

Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach a range of undergraduate nursing courses. This position is approximately half teaching and half administrative. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising, and conducting research with students in a liberal arts setting.  

 

Doctorate or significant progress toward doctoral degree required (completion of doctorate no later than summer 2025).

 

The College seeks candidates who have a commitment to working closely with a wide range of students. Currently, our population is approximately one-quarter students of color and 40% first-generation college students. Eagerness and ability to work with these populations is essential. Equally important is excellence in evidence-based pedagogy. The typical teaching load for full-time positions at the College is three four-credit courses per semester. The College is located in historic Jacksonville, Illinois, 30 miles west of the capital city of Springfield and 70 miles north of St. Louis, Missouri.
