Illinois College invites applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Communication Arts department to begin in Fall 2025.


Position 1: Primary focus on Social Media/New Media and Strategic Communication.
 

Position 2: Primary focus on Intercultural Communication with particular interest in intercultural communication within organizations. Strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise and/or interest in studying issues of race, ethnicity, and culture within organizations in the U.S. context.
 

Secondary areas of particular need for the department include the ability to teach business communication, public relations, mass communication, and health communication.  For both positions, candidates should have an interest and ability to teach the department’s introductory public speaking course. While most teaching is on campus, preference for candidates who have online teaching experience and an interest in teaching in the online program. Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. The department seeks candidates committed to diverse and inclusive perspectives in teaching, scholarship, and service as well as enthusiasm for working closely with students in a liberal arts setting. 
 

Doctorate or ABD required.
